Inheriting a property.

Using a local mortgage lender is imperative if you are buying a home from a relative or inheriting a property. Someone local will take the necessary time to meet all parties involved and devise a proper plan. Many buyers in this situation need to be made aware that a relative, the seller, can gift the buyer equity as a down payment, which can cover all closing costs.

Also, if multiple people inherit a property and one person wants to retain it, we can help organize it where one pays their share of the equity while the other keeps the property. These are both situations where a local mortgage is a must.

A national or out-of-state lender will not take the time to help the borrower navigate these situations for inherited property, but Indigo Mortgage will. We have a history of assisting many families across New Mexico through this process! We’d like to consider ourselves experts in doing so.
